Instance grew from a long-standing creative partnership, two people with deep roots across film, post-production and experiential work, and a shared conviction that there was a smarter way to do things.

Candice was always going to be an artist, but when she started tinkering with her dad's video camera in grade 10 her path to the film industry was set in motion. Candice is known for her expertise in Live Action, Motion Design, and Animation. Her commitment to aesthetic elegance and technical craftsmanship shines through in every piece she creates. Her projects enchant audiences with rich narratives and emotive performances, each frame showcasing her sharp visual sensibility.

With a versatile skill set that encompasses the entire creative process - from concept development to delivery - Candice thrives in collaborative environments. She provides clear guidance while leveraging her deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the filmmaking landscape.

At the tender age of 8, Adrian Bergoff got his hands on his first computer, which happened to be the first PC in South Africa, built by his father. Armed with a magazine and a cassette player, he programmed Space Invaders, sparking a lifelong passion. With over 20 years of 3D experience in a big studio environment, Adrian honed his skills to a fine edge before branching out to start his own niche studio, focusing exclusively on high-end Houdini work. Now, he’s come full circle with Instance Films, bringing his expertise and creative vision to new heights.

Nobody knows exactly where he hails from, but rumor has it Peter was born in Windhoek to Austrian-German parents who fled an uncertain Europe. Their journey took longer than expected, and baby Peter, in his spare time, began tinkering with Houdini. Peter's father eventually found work as a watchmaker, famously servicing the Union Building clock in 1960. This meticulous attention to detail runs in Peter's veins, evident in his work. In the early 2000s, Peter honed his craft grading film in Europe, adding another layer of expertise to his already impressive skill set.
